1. First things first. Non-members get only just 3 stories to read in particular month. If the stories are two minutes or three minutes read, you are going to get just 10 minutes in full month at the maximum. Phew! Given the amount of knowledge in this platform, 10 mins per month is meagre!.

2. If you become a member, then you get full access to the medium platform. What is full access to Medium means? Let me break it down for you.

You can read any number of articles in particular month. For example, say, you read 10 articles in a month. 10 articles means, with maximum of five minutes per article you’re going to spend maximum of 50 to 60 minutes and that translates to around 250 articles( ah… never mind. There will be some skip days). Imagine the wealth of knowledge you’re going to get by reading 250 articles in a month. You are going to be benefited by this knowledge and its a benefit for the writer. You are motivating another person by clapping , reading , responding.

Next,

If you have a thought for writing your ideas , but you’re just in the side-lines , why don’t you start becoming a member first and start clapping , start responding to the other writers articles in your feed. Believe me you’re going to get more confident by appreciating other article/writer and confidently sharing your thoughts to the external world.

Next,

Somehow these days the idea doesn’t come when you sit in front of your laptop or desktop . Ideas pop up when you’re travelling, when you’re interacting with others, when you’re in silence, when you’re doing any other activity apart from writing. That’s all is my experience. For example this, article I’m writing when I’m travelling from my home to work around 45 minutes. Infact I am voicing out this article using my mic instead of typing. It is possible only because, I have a full medium membership access which means that I can write articles using the Medium app. I lost access when I did not have the full membership and it was really really difficult for me. Now I’m like a free bird expressing my thoughts writing down a line or two about the crux of the idea putting it in a draft and convert it into a publish-ready article later.

Next,

The more you read, you are going to interact with the wonderful people here. A writer takes time to absorb the thoughts, convert into readable words, edits to see the context and relevance again and again. And finally hits the Publish button. Waits for the Millions of readers of medium to pick his article and read. Waits for the claps, waits for the comments. Which makes The Writer do their passionate work, ie writing. Why don’t you be that person, who motivates that writer.

A small sense of satisfaction for yourself @ the cost of 20 cents per day ?

Next,

There are many admins / moderators spending their own time to improve and support the platform. Your helping hand will make a difference to them.

Next,

You learn new terms by reading new articles. For example, I learnt about “Soldier’s point” from Narin Narula

Another one from “Phubbing” from VIJITHAN'S VIEW. Check out these articles from them.

Finally,

Use this link to become a member of Medium. I will be benefitted for sure and so are you.
